Lunar Medallion Plate Set

Lunar Medallion Plate Set

With this limited edition lunar Bidri medallion plate set we connect with the lessons of nature.

In ancient religions the moon represents these three archetypes of the feminine — Maiden. Mother. Crone.

When the moon begins her cycle as the new moon and develops through the waxing phase, she is the maiden with fresh new ideas. She can teach us about being delicate, innocent, excited and unsure. When the moon becomes full, she is the nurturing mother. She brings ideas out into the world and can teach us about celebration, fostering life, action and manifestation. When the moon wanes away, she is the crone, experienced and wise. She understands what needs to be released to make room for the next cycle.

The moon rules the feminine, the emotions, the right brain, images, symbols, the subconscious, dreams, intuition and the water element.

The moon is all about reflection. After all, the moon reflects the sun’s light. Following the moon and learning how to harness its energy can help you reflect on your life, your dreams, goals and relationships and can be a great tool to help you live your best life.

Encrusted silver onto a metal plate, master craftsman M A Rauf and his team of five craftsmen have chiseled our beloved phases of the moon into our medallion plates. Inspired by one of our first designs, the moon medallion, we have created the waxing and waning of the moon’s constant transitions; much like our lives. Use the plates as trinket trays, wall plates, or arrange all its phases on your coffee table.

Each plate is carefully handcrafted by Rauf and his team from Bidar the same way as it has been for centuries. Due to its handcrafted nature, no two will look the same.

Time spent — 240 hours to make this plate.

Special mention — It was an honour working with award winning, M A Rauf, the master craftsman who helped us create these luminous plates. He has received the National and Shilp Guru Award ( Shilp Guru is the most prestigious award for any craftsman in India ) for his contributions in the Bidri craft revival movement.
